2006 [Junior Season]
The UTPA junior appeared in 18 games at first base to go along with two games on the mound before suffering a season-ending injury... posted a .239 batting average with 11 hits in 46 at-bats to go along with a .357 on-base percentage... collected three hits and drove in one run against Sam Houston State (Mar. 5)... posted two hits, two runs batted in and one run scored against Stephen F. Austin (Feb. 17)... collected a pair of hits, one run batted in and one run scored against TCU (Feb. 18).

2005 [Sophomore Season]
Pena posted a .262 batting average during his sophomore season with the Broncs... appeared in 18 total games at first base to go along with six games on the mound... earned 13 trips to the UTPA starting lineup.

2004 [Freshman Season]
In his first season with the Broncs, Pena posted a 3-2 record on the mound to go along with a 5.33 earned run average... appeared in 10 games where he struck out 17 hitters in 27.0 innings of action... recorded his first collegiate victory against the University of Kansas (Feb. 7) where he hurled 4.0 innings and failed to surrender a hit or run.

Harlingen South High School
Pena was a standout at Harlingen South High School where he earned first team All-District 32-4A honors during his junior and senior campaigns... selected as an All-Rio Grande Valley and All-Area selection in each of his final two seasons... posted a .380 batting average with seven doubles and 22 runs batted in during his senior season... recorded a 12-5 record on the mound with a 1.49 earned run average... allowed 53 hits in 104.1 total innings of action during his senior season... recorded a .421 career batting average during his tenure with Harlingen South High School... captured 17 victories on the mound and struck out 189 hitters to go along with a 1.81 earned run average during his career.
