Tefft posted a .262 conference batting average in his first season with the Spartans where he finished sixth on the team in total hits, and second in stolen bases... recorded a .393 conference batting average with 57 hits, 11 doubles, 16 stolen bases while collecting 22 RBI and 33 walks... led the ICCAC Division I in walks for two consecutive seasons... earned all-conference accolades.

Bryan High School
A standout at Bryan High School, Tefft finished his final season with a .412 batting average with 35 RBI, four home runs, 10 doubles and five triples en route to earning all-district laurels in three consecutive seasons, all-metro and was a two-time honorable mention all-state recipient...received All-Metro honors... collected first team academic all-region honors... was a member of the National Honor Society
