The University of Texas-Pan American Lady Broncs collected second place honors at the 22nd Annual PGA National Minority Golf Championships on Sunday (May 11) at PGA Golf Club in Port St. Lucie, Fla.
As a team, the Lady Broncs finished with a three-round score of 934 (310-317-307) while Bethune-Cookman University captured the tournament title with a three-round tally of 918 (309-307-302).
Finishing just one stroke from first place was Mariale Camey who recorded a 54-hole score of 226 (75-77-74) while Haley Hocott collected fifth place laurels with a three-round score of 232 (80-76-76).
Rebecca De Leon posted a 7th place finish with a 54-hole tally of 238 (77-83-78) while Brownyn Sandberg also recorded a seventh place finish with a three-round score of 238 (78-81-79).
Jennifer Marks finished in 20th place with a three-round tally of 266 (90-90-86), respectively.
On the men's side, the Broncs recorded a three-round team score of 893 (299-299-295) for third place while Bethune-Cookman captured first place with a team total of 872 (298-286-288).
Shane Pearce collected sixth place laurels with a 54-hole score of 217 (71-74-72) while Armen Kirakossian took home seventh place with a three-round tally of 218 (72-72-74).
Kyle Tudi tied for ninth overall with a 54-hole tally of 223 (76-73-74) while senior Jeff Hensley recorded a 41st place finish with a total of 242 (84-80-78).
The Lady Broncs and Broncs each concluded their 2008 spring campaign at the National Minority College Golf Championships.
