Returning back to her old stomping grounds was head coach women's golf coach Ofelia Lopez who's team finished fifth out of eight teams in round one of the Southern Miss Lady Eagle Invitational on Monday (Apr. 7).
Leading the tournament is host Southern Mississippi with a team score of (308) while Marshall University (309), ULM (314), Birmingham Southern (315) and UTPA (319) round off the top-five spots.
After one round of golf, senior Elizabeth Rodriguez leads the pack of Lady Broncs finishing tied for fifth overall with a 36-hole score of 75 (37-38) while Mariale Camey is tied for fifth with teammate Rodriguez recording a one-round tally of 75 (36-39).
Tied for 23rd place is Bronwyn Sandberg with a one-round score of 83 (42-41) while Haley Hocott posted a score of 86 (41-45) tied for 30th place.
Finishing tied for 33rd place is Rebecca DeLeon who recorded a 36-hole score of 87 (43-44), respectively.
The Lady Broncs will play the final 18 holes tomorrow morning with a shotgun start at 7:30 a.m.
